 With over 20 years of experience in construction and real estate, Kyle McLaughlin holds a Class A Unlimited Contractor’s License in Virginia and North Carolina and a Virginia Real Estate Broker’s License. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Kyle brings a distinctive perspective to urban development, specializing in infill projects often overlooked by larger developers. From his early days in high school carrying shingles and sweeping floors, he has developed a deep understanding of what it takes to successfully complete projects. Kyle has guided buyers through large commercial property transactions and led the development and construction of a variety of different projects. Relocating to Beaufort, NC in 2024 Kyle is looking for new opportunities to build and develop. When not driving innovative real estate ventures, he enjoys spending quality time on the water with his wife and young son.

  Barney McLaughlin, a seasoned Real Estate Broker and Class A Contractor, has been a cornerstone of McBar Group since founding it in 1986. Originally from the Tidewater area, he relocated to Chester in 1978. A graduate of Tabb High School, Barney attended Richard Bland College of William & Mary, earning a scholarship and recognition on the Dean’s List. His passion for construction and real estate began early, starting in carpentry at 16 and obtaining his real estate license by 20. Over the decades, he has led McBar in developing and remodeling residential, commercial, and multifamily properties across North Carolina and Virginia. An avid aviator, Barney holds Instrument, Commercial Multi-Engine, Seaplane, and Instructor ratings. When not flying, he can often be found enjoying the waters of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. Barney’s extensive expertise and respected presence in the business community enhance the exceptional service McBar Group delivers to its clients.
